7th JUNE 2015
WHCC v Oak & Ash CC
WHCC lose by 7 wickets
After a drizzling overcast game last week ‘The Elf’ were met with sunshine this Sunday and back to the top pitch at Aldridge
Rob Hewlitt skippering his second game and putting us into bat first.
As it was a disappointing loss lets just focus on the positives.
Super Andy Gorton, Richard Fell and Skipper Rob Hewlitt did well with bat.
Jonty Nicholls was by far the best with the ball. Ian Chuck tireless in his verbal efforts to lift the team and rally crying taking of wicket when he bowled.
Nathan Reeves so fast in the field. JP almost unlocked the game with his spell but it wasn’t quite to be.
Rich Fell took a great catch off Tom Davies bowling and Gary Fitzpatrick sharp behind the stumps.
Iron Man Chris Hall admitted he loves ice cream is this our Superman’s kryptonite. But even our PSB could not stem the tide today.
Let’s move on quickly. Credit to the opposition for a strong performance and we can focus on bouncing back this Sunday with a real team effort.
THOUGHTS & BEST WISHES
Everyone at Walsall Health CC would like to offer their deepest sympathies and also their love and support to the Fell & Mason families who lost their Nan last week. Richard donned a black armband in memory and put in individual performance that would be a credit to her memory.
GOOD LUCK JP
Today was also a season finale for our resident King of Spain, the Welsh Wizard, Jonathan Preece, who will soon be heading of for some surgery. The whole team hopes for a successful Op and speedy recovery. A corner stone of ‘The Elf’ and we can’t wait to have you back out there on the field with us.

AOB
After a dismal result there were a few highlights off the field. An ice cream van turned up and couple of the team partook in a tasty treat. However, the ice cream man was letting his son distribute them and to say they were massive was an understatement. It was more like wielding a broad sword than eating an ice cream.
MAN OF THE MATCH
& TOP BATSMAN
Rob Hewlitt for the second week running with another Captains performance. His valyrian steel bat clearly the continued key to his batting success.
TOP BOWLER
Jonty Nichols was the only bowler who delivered a strong performance in his first game of the season. The dot machine rumbling back into operation.
TOP FIELDER
Rich Fell took superb catch in the deep. The 6 time fielder of the year, plugged holes and stopped many run scoring opportunities.
RACHEL GORTON’S – POP SCENE
The sunshine produced a coral maxi-dress and big sunglasses. Our very own pop technician lounged on a picnic blanket with a some fruity cider and also brought the ice creams when the van arrived. A great effort on the fashion front and looking after her lads this week.
DAI WATCH
At least their was some warmer weather for our heroic scorer today. With Mrs P and daughter Angharad in attendance the Super Scorer was on best behaviour. At least Mrs P was able to witness first hand that Dai never eats pork scratching during fines.
